Château de Frauenberg
Place du Château, 57200 Frauenberg
The first mention(distinction) of the name of Frauenberg is made in a charter dated September 14th, 1370 drafted in German. Charter speaks about "Burgfriche", that is about contract which Frederick and Jacques de Sierck concluded with the intention of helping each other in case of attack, to support(maintain) peace around their castle and their ownerships. Unoccupied since Revolution, this castle was however the heart of an abundant life the from XIVth century till XVIIIth century. The vestiges which overhang the valley of Blies in Frauenberg provoke interest and curiosity since generations, and are at the origin of numerous myths. However, year by year, the impressive building continues to degrade.
