Emblematic Monument of the "Imperial district" of Metz, the Palace of the governor, is initially intended(designed) to be the Hotel of command of the XVIth army corps during the period of German Annexation.
For European Heritage Days 2018, the monument opens its doors once again to the public and proposes an exhibition(exposure) of photographies and of videos devoted to its history(story).

The palace of the Governor, conscript in the past General-Kommando, is a residence built in Metz, between 1902 and 1905, to serve as pied-a-terre to the emperor Guillaume II. It is located small public garden Giraud in the southwest of the district of Metz-Centre, but rest historically bound(connected) to the imperial district further east. The Palace is registered on the additional inventory of historic monuments since 1975.
