As part of The project of renovation of the palace of the dukes of Lorraine - Lorraine Museum, 20 major works of the collections of the museum took a seat(took place) in the rooms of the museum of Fine Arts where they come have talks with the works of the permanent route(course).
The museum of Fine Arts seized this exceptional opportunity to renew in depth its collision(hanging) of the old(former) rooms.
Come discover this new route(course), revealed on the occasion of European Heritage Days: Pierre-Hippolyte Pénet, conservative in the palace of the dukes of Lorraine - Lorraine Museum, and Sophie Laroche, conservative(curator) to the museum of Fine Arts, will lift the veil as part of a visit in two voices(votes) on some of the presented masterpieces.

The museum is located on the place(square) Stanislas, remarkable architectural ensemble conceived(designed) in 1755 by Emmanuel Héré. He manifests the wealth of the historical heritage of the city. To note a remarkable example of interior design of the XVIIIth century s.: the "peristyle" and the staircase adorned with ironworks of Jean Lamour, both listing(classifying) in the world heritage of the UNESCO. In 1936, a first extension is realised by the brothers André, sons(thread) of Emile André, celebrates architect of the School of Nancy. In 1999, an important construction site(work) of renovation and of enlargement managed by Laurent Beaudouin registers the museum in a resolutely contemporary architecture while including into the basement of the vestiges of fortifications the from XVth century till XVIIth century.
The route(course) of exhibition(exposure), scénographié by Luca Lotti, allows an at once chronological and thematic discovery of collections. Endowed with the label Museum of France, the museum, across its collections, proposes a large panorama of art in Europe from the XIVth century to our days. In painting(paint), Italy is very present, as well as the Schools of the North. The different currents of the French painting(paint) are also illustrated. The museum shelters a remarkable collection of glass factories Daum, the beautiful whole art of Far East established(constituted) by Charles Cartier-Bresson as well as an anthology of works of Jean Prouvé.
