Fort de Liouville
Fort de Liouville, 55300 Apremont-la-Forêt
Established between 1876 and 1878 on the «defensive curtain» of Tops of Meuse(Maas), he(it) faces up entrenched camp of Metz. Only work updated between the strong places(squares) of Toul and Verdun, it will be equipped with cuirassement and some of these masonries replaced by some concrete. By its architecture and its unique(only) setting-up(presence) the fort is an atypical work in the system Séré of Rivers. Bombed intensely from September, 1914, he(it) will resist the attack and pass(spend, cross) four years of First World War to be watched the very close forehead(front). The flora and fauna is well present on the site. ASFL watches to maintain and to keeping(preserving) the ruins of this fort while organising regular visits.
