The chapel of the XIIth century of the castle of the bishops reserved for the inhabitants of the strengthened surrounding wall(speaker) was extended in the XVIth century to become the church Saint-Lubin which is annexed to the castle. Many ogival bays(berries) opened in the Gothic part(party) of the building are adorned with stained-glass windows realised by workshops Lorin, most old(former) chartrain master(teacher)-glazier; they date the second half of the XIXth century. Besides the presence of the bishops of Chartres, the church of Pontgouin is marked by the memory(souvenir) of a son of the soil, which is going to become Lord the cardinal Pius.
