Following the annexation of Alsace by Germany of numerous Alsatian become established in the city. The Protestant community, first installed(settled) in a small detached house(flag) built by Kléber suburb of the Ancestors, pass so of 400 members in 1866, in 1000 after 1880\. Conceived(Designed) by the architect Mr Jundt, civil engineer and the Presbyterian adviser(councillor), the temple is inaugurated on May 10th, 1877\. In 1984, the building grows rich of a high quality polyphonic organ, masterpiece of the factor(mailman) of organs Mark Garnier. Unique(Only) instrument, both for his sonority and for his decoration, he allows during all year the organisation of concerts. This year, the temple Saint Jean celebrates during September the 30th birthday(anniversary) of the organ Garnier of the temple Saint Jean
