After "Faire Paysage", the cycle of exhibitions "Ecrire la Ville" continues its exploration of the Courbevoisian heritage through its architecture.
Understanding this history through chronology means embarking on a journey into the heart of the urban transformations of the city. Varying the scale of the ornament’s gaze to the alignment of the facades makes it possible to go beyond the administrative logic of the neighborhoods to propose a broader reading grid, and at the same time closer to the topographic reality at work in Courbevoie.
Reconfiguring itself according to its needs, the city which remains a real laboratory of experimentation for architects from the 17th century to the present day accumulates an exemplary representativeness of the urban landscapes of western Paris.

Housed in Bécon Park, the municipal museum occupies the villa studio of the painter Consuelo Fould (1862-1927). The main building built in the mid-19th century was enlarged around 1885 when the «Sweden-Norway Pavilion» was reassembled at the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris. The red pine facade of Norway by architect Henrik Thrapp-Meyer is one of the few French examples of 19th-century prefabricated architecture. The pavilion has been listed as a Historic Monument since May 27, 1987\. The museum displays works by painters Consuelo Fould, Georges Achille-Fould, Juana Romani and Ferdinand Roybet (1840-1920) as well as sculptures by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875).
