3 rue du Château d'Eau 75010 Paris
The labour exchange, more than a century of history. On March 3, 1851, a certain F. Sain, deputy of the Loire; asks the Legislative Assembly of the Second Republic to create in Paris a «Bourse du travailleur» which would help the circulation of labour in the image of the Financial Exchange, which had so favoured that of capital since its creation in 1724\. But this idea was only taken up in 1875 and submitted in 1884 to the municipal council of Paris by a majority Blanquist and radical-socialist who voted in principle. The first Labour Exchange was inaugurated in 1887\. Its objective was to provide the trade unions, authorized since the law of 1884 on freedom of association, a «house» bringing together the different trades that would have offices and meeting rooms.
