Why must we maintain our heritage? Based on the example of the renovated Notre-Dame-de-la-Daurade church, we will see that there is not only a religious and historical dimension to this approach. The visit will last 45 minutes and will take place in front of and in the church.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Daurabde, Sancra Maria Deaurata (its Latin name) is the most ancient Marian shrine of Gaul, decorated with mosaics with a gold background. Benedictine priory in the eleventh century, then entrusted to the reformed Benedictine congregation of Saint-Maur, a new church in the eighteenth century enriched with its current decorations and furniture. Dedicated to Mary, Immaculate Conception, it was erected as a basilica by Pope Pius IX in 1876\. Also called Our Lady the Black, the statue of the Holy Virgin, located in the right transept at the most sacred place of the old church, is venerated there. The great organ of 1864 is a historic monument. Every 3 years, the 3rd of May is held the Mass of the Académie des Jeux Floraux with the blessing of the metal flowers presented to the laureates of the literary competition. The association (APPD) ensures the protection of this heritage.
