The soloists of the Lancy-Geneva Orchestra joyfully and masterfully celebrate the arrival of fall with a program that spans a wide range of eras and moods.
The concert opens with a classical touch: Gioacchino Rossini’s lively and sparkling Quartet No. 2, written for an unusual ensemble of two violins, cello, and double bass, followed by a poetic and sensitive miniature from the French repertoire—the beautiful “Valse d’Automne” by composer Cécile Chaminade (1857–1944), rarely performed in concert.
Also fitting for the season is Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s famous “Autumn Song.” Balancing nostalgia and energy, with a few surprising touches of blues and folk, the program concludes with a selection of traditional tangos and, to finish with rhythm and passion, a tango nuevo by Astor Piazzolla.

Les solistes de l’Orchestre de Lancy-Genève célèbrent joyeusement et avec virtuosité l’arrivée de l’automne avec un programme qui élargit la palette des époques et ambiances.
En ouverture une touche classique avec le quatuor no2 vif et pétillant de Gioacchino Rossini écrit pour une formation inhabituelle deux violons violoncelle et contrebasse, suivi d’une miniature poétique et sensible du répertoire français : la très belle «Valse d'Automne» rarement interprétée en concert de la compositrice Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944).
De saison également, le célèbre «Chant d'Automne » de Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski. Entre nostalgie et énergie, quelques pincées surprise de Blues et Folk, en dessert une sélection de tangos traditionnels et pour conclure tout en rythme et passion un tango nuevo d’Astor Piazzolla.
