As it does every year, La Musicale is opening its doors for Music Day. Three concerts to kick off the summer!

Ensemble of 4 violas
G. PH. TELEMANN, Concerto No. 1 in C major for four violas
G. KNOX, Marin Marais Variations for four violas
J. S. BACH / ICHIRO NODAÏRA, Chaconne, BWV 1004 (transcription for four violas)
The unique nature of an ensemble composed of four violas and the extraordinary sound produced by these instruments coming together inspired the musicians to combine their shared passion for chamber music by forming this ensemble. Active for years on the music scene in the Geneva region and far beyond, they perform original compositions as well as arrangements written specifically for this ensemble.

Their repertoire ranges from mainstream jazz to modern jazz, with some more contemporary touches, while occasionally drawing on classical or Latin American music.

L.V. BEETHOVEN, String Trio, Op. 3, No. 1
A string trio (violin, viola, cello) composed of three young musicians based in Geneva and studying at the HEM. They are currently studying in Axel Schacher’s class and have been participating in numerous masterclasses given by the Belcea Quartet since 2024.
