The Game Jam +1 is a game creation event that brings together local creative and technical talents. The games created will be showcased to the public on May 24 at the former Charmilles post office.
The Game Jam +1 Vernissage
The Game Jam +1 is a collaborative event dedicated to the creation of video games and board games, bringing together local creative and technical talents from a wide range of disciplines (music, software development, visual design, writing, photography, etc.
At the exhibition, the public is invited to come play the newly created games and meet their creators!
Come test the games at the Ancienne Poste des Charmilles (23 rue des Charmilles) on Sunday, May 24, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Supporting the local game development community
Through games, Play Don't Tell promotes collaboration between creative professionals and enthusiasts. In 2026, the association decided to organize the first edition of the Game Jam +1 in the canton of Geneva to bring together local talents from technical and creative fields. Participants are invited to create and start new projects together. Music and sound, software development, visual design, writing, photography, animation, project management: game development brings together many disciplines.c
Sharing and Social Cohesion Through Games
The Game Jam +1 has a unique rule: Participants must register in pairs with someone from outside the game development industry. Thus, half of the teams formed on-site are made up of people who are new to game development. This is an opportunity to benefit from fresh perspectives, build unexpected interdisciplinary connections, and collectively break free from traditional conceptions of games. If we play together, why not create games together!
Showcasing the games created
At Game Jam +1, there are no winners: the games produced are not ranked, but shared publicly with the residents of Geneva. This Game Jam features a public showcase on Sunday, following the creation of the games on Friday and Saturday. Creators will present their work at this public event, have their games tested, and try out the games created by other teams. There are no prizes to be won, but new collaborations to begin!
