Eight singers, a thousand possibilities. Roomful of Teeth transforms the human voice into a truly multi-dimensional instrument. Winner of multiple Grammy Awards, the American ensemble brings together performers whose virtuosity and curiosity have helped redefine the art of vocal music over the past fifteen years. For this exceptional programme, the singers explore two distinct ways of telling stories through the voice.
On one side is Partita for 8 Voices by Caroline Shaw, a landmark work in which timbres intersect, collide and combine in a fascinating feat of sonic architecture. On the other is Elevator Songs, created in collaboration with Gabriel Kahane, a sequence of musical narratives that sketches a mosaic of lives, eras and sensibilities. Balancing collective precision with interpretative freedom, the eight voices create a space where humour, vulnerability, memory and wonder coexist. A concert of rare intensity from an ensemble that turns every appearance into an event.

Récompensé par plusieurs Grammy Awards, l’ensemble américain rassemble des interprètes dont la virtuosité et la curiosité ont profondément renouvelé l’art vocal au cours des quinze dernières années. Pour ce programme exceptionnel, les chanteur·euses explorent deux manières de raconter le monde par la voix.
D’un côté, Elevator Songs, fruit de leur rencontre avec Gabriel Kahane, suite de récits musicaux qui esquisse une mosaïque de destins, d’époques et de sensibilités. De l’autre, Partita for 8 Voices de Caroline Shaw, partition devenue incontournable, où les timbres se croisent, s’entrechoquent et s’assemblent dans un fascinant jeu de construction sonore. Entre précision collective et liberté d’interprétation individuelle, l’octuor ouvre un espace où se côtoient humour, fragilité, mémoire et émerveillement.
