Das Museum von Flandern ehrt einen der größten Meister der flämischen Malerei, Jan Brueghel den Älteren, anlässlich des 400. Todestages. Der Künstler, der wegen seiner samtigen Note und seiner schimmernden und hellen Palette Velvet genannt wird, ist ein Spezialist für Landschaften, Blumen und Tiere. Er fügt sich oft die Fähigkeiten anderer Maler bei, die die Figuren darstellen. Einer seiner größten Mitarbeiter nach Rubens war Hendrick van Balen. Der heute unbekannte Künstler hatte jedoch zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts eine glänzende Karriere. Dank zahlreicher prestigeträchtiger Leihgaben, stellt die Ausstellung den Weg dieser beiden außergewöhnlichen Maler durch die Präsentation von mehr als 70 Werken in den Vordergrund!

The museum of Flanders pays tribute to one of the greatest masters of Flemish painting, Jan Brueghel l'Ancien, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death. Nicknamed Velvet because of his velvety touch and his shimmering and bright palette, this artist is a specialist in landscapes, flowers and animals. He often adds the skills of other painters, responsible for representing the characters. One of his greatest collaborators after Rubens was Hendrick van Balen. Artist today unknown, the latter had a brilliant career at the beginning of the 17th century. Thanks to numerous prestigious loans, the exhibition highlights the journey of these two extraordinary painters through the presentation of more than 70 works!

Spesso si aggiunge le competenze di altri pittori, incaricati di rappresentare i personaggi. Uno dei suoi più grandi collaboratori, dopo Rubens, fu Hendrick van Balen. Artista oggi poco conosciuto, quest'ultimo ebbe tuttavia una brillante carriera all'inizio del XVII secolo. Grazie a numerosi prestiti prestigiosi, la mostra mette in evidenza il percorso di questi due pittori fuori dal comune attraverso la presentazione di oltre 70 opere!

Le musée de Flandre rend hommage à l’un des plus grands maîtres de la peinture flamande, Jan Brueghel l’Ancien, à l’occasion du 400e anniversaire de sa mort. Surnommé de Velours en raison de sa touche veloutée et de sa palette chatoyante et lumineuse, cet artiste est un spécialiste des paysages, des fleurs et des animaux. Il s’adjoint souvent les compétences d’autres peintres, chargés de représenter les personnages. L’un de ses plus grands collaborateurs, après Rubens, fut Hendrick van Balen. Artiste aujourd’hui méconnu, ce dernier eut pourtant une brillante carrière au début du XVIIe siècle. Grâce à de nombreux prêts prestigieux, l’exposition met en avant le parcours de ces deux peintres hors du commun à travers la présentation de plus de 70 oeuvres !

Apodado de Terciopelo por su toque aterciopelado y su paleta brillante y luminosa, este artista es un especialista en paisajes, flores y animales. Suele añadir a sus habilidades las de otros pintores, encargados de representar a los personajes. Uno de sus mayores colaboradores, después de Rubens, fue Hendrick van Balen. Artista hoy poco conocido, este último tuvo sin embargo una brillante carrera a principios del siglo XVII. Gracias a numerosos préstamos prestigiosos, la exposición pone de relieve el recorrido de estos dos pintores fuera de lo común a través de la presentación de más de 70 obras!
