When the heirs of the painter Roberta Gonzalèz bequeathed her former summer residence to the city, in view of its opening to the public, the latter called upon the Bormelian landscape artist Gilles Augias, a specialist in southern plants, to create a park there. He first installs plants of great rarity, having blooms spread over all four seasons. The Mediterranean climate being favorable to their adaptation, nearly 500 species flourish today on the terraces, overflowing from the stone walls of gneiss of Bormes and sometimes steep staircases. The course, which offers spectacular views of the sea, walks among the collections of acacia, eucalyptus and grevilleas. Banksias, hakeas, melaleucas, eremophilas contribute to this vegetation profusion where palm trees, agaves and aloes have also found their place. Ferns and orchids enjoy a shaded and humid atmosphere near the house. The golden-yellow flowers of mimosas illuminate the garden by exhaling their scent.
