The building built in 1749 on the plans of architects Soufflot and Roche has undergone many transformations related to its various uses over time.

Welcoming staff will be present to inform you and answer your questions about the history of the building. A rich documentary is available to visitors to consult on site or take away as well as photos and a slideshow.

Temple du Change

Place du Change, 69005 Lyon, France

This 18th century building was made according to designs by Soufflot. Abandoned in the 19th century, it was assigned to the Protestant cult in November 1803\. Deep changes then affected the building. The terrace was transformed by replacing the steps with a steep central staircase. The facade corresponds to the provisions of the 18th century and shows a strong influence of the Italian facades of the 16th century on a structure 'à la française'. The current lodge of change remains a witness to the architecture of the eighteenth century and an important milestone in the career of Soufflot in Lyon.
