The Priory is an elegant site founded in the 10th century under the authority of the abbot of Cluny. For three centuries, the Clunisian monks participated in the construction of religious buildings, among which the Romanesque cloister and the church. In 1301, the village experienced a real boom following the arrival of a community of Benedictines, raised in the eighteenth century to the range of Chanoinesses Comtesses. Between religious life and secular life, these women of the high nobility have left an indisputable trace of their passage in the village.
