Entdeckung in den 1960er Jahren, die villa antike Sainte-Nitasse war 2025 Gegenstand einer neuen präventiven archäologischen Ausgrabung, die vom INRAP durchgeführt wurde. Diese weitläufige ländliche Einrichtung zeichnet sich durch ihre außergewöhnliche Größe und die zahlreichen Umgestaltungen aus, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte beobachtet wurden, was eine dauerhafte Besiedlung und einen luxuriösen Lebensstil offenbart. Das Ausmaß der Bauten und die Qualität der Anlagen zeugen vom hohen Status ihrer Eigentümer innerhalb der gallo-römischen Gesellschaft.
Nach dem erfolgreichen Tag der offenen Tür auf der Baustelle im Januar 2025 bietet diese Ausstellung einen Einblick in die Geschichte, die Methoden der Ausgrabung und die frühen Interpretationen des Geländes sowie die Perspektiven zukünftiger Studien.
Zum ersten Mal wird der Öffentlichkeit eine Auswahl von Gegenständen präsentiert: Alltagskeramiken, Haushaltsgeräte, Schmuckstücke und andere Überreste, die das Leben der Bewohner der villa.
Zwischen wissenschaftlicher Entdeckung und dem Eintauchen in die Vergangenheit lädt die Ausstellung Jung und Alt dazu ein, die Hintergründe der Archäologie zu erkunden und die Bedeutung dieser außergewöhnlichen Stätte, nur wenige Kilometer von einer anderen imposanten, besser zu verstehen. villa antik: Escolives-Sainte-Camille.

Discovery in the 1960s, the villa antique of Sainte-Nitasse was the subject, in 2025, of a new preventive archaeological excavation conducted by Inrap. This vast rural settlement is distinguished by its exceptional dimensions and the numerous alterations observed over the centuries, revealing a sustainable occupation and a luxurious lifestyle. The scale of the constructions and the quality of the facilities testify to the high status of its owners within the Gallo-Roman society.
Following the success of the open doors of the construction site in January 2025, this exhibition proposes to revisit the history, excavation methods and early interpretations of the site, while presenting the prospects for future studies.
For the first time, a selection of objects is unveiled to the public: everyday ceramics, household utensils, ornaments and other remains that shed light on the lives of the inhabitants of the villa.
Between scientific discovery and immersion in the past, the exhibition invites young and old to explore behind the scenes of archaeology and better understand the importance of this exceptional site located a few kilometers from another imposing villa antique: Escolives-Sainte-Camille.

Scoperta negli anni '60, la villa antica di Sainte-Nitasse è stata oggetto, nel 2025, di un nuovo scavo archeologico preventivo condotto dall'Inrap. Questa vasta struttura rurale si distingue per le sue dimensioni eccezionali e per i numerosi cambiamenti osservati nel corso dei secoli, rivelando un'occupazione duratura e uno stile di vita lussuoso. L'ampiezza delle costruzioni e la qualità degli allestimenti testimoniano lo status elevato dei suoi proprietari all'interno della società gallo-romana.
A seguito del successo dell'apertura del cantiere nel gennaio 2025, questa esposizione propone di tornare sulla storia, sui metodi di scavo e sulle prime interpretazioni del sito, presentando le prospettive degli studi futuri.
Per la prima volta, una selezione di oggetti viene svelata al pubblico: ceramiche della vita quotidiana, utensili domestici, oggetti di ornamento e altri reperti che illuminano la vita degli abitanti della villa.
Tra scoperta scientifica e immersione nel passato, la mostra invita grandi e piccini a esplorare dietro le quinte dell'archeologia e comprendere meglio l'importanza di questo sito eccezionale situato a pochi chilometri da un altro imponente villa antico: Escolives-Sainte-Camille.

Découverte dans les années 1960, la villa antique de Sainte-Nitasse a fait l’objet, en 2025, d’une nouvelle fouille archéologique préventive menée par l’Inrap. Ce vaste établissement rural se distingue par ses dimensions exceptionnelles et par les nombreux remaniements observés au fil des siècles, révélant une occupation durable et un mode de vie luxueux. L’ampleur des constructions et la qualité des aménagements témoignent du statut élevé de ses propriétaires au sein de la société gallo-romaine.
À la suite du succès des portes ouvertes du chantier en janvier 2025, cette exposition propose de revenir sur l’histoire, les méthodes de fouille et les premières interprétations du site, tout en présentant les perspectives d’études à venir.

Este gran establecimiento rural se distingue por sus dimensiones excepcionales y por los numerosos cambios observados a lo largo de los siglos, que revelan una ocupación duradera y un estilo de vida lujoso.
