A case worthy of an Agatha Christie... Agents from the Palais-Musée, present at that time, will be suspected of theft! Was the theft committed by Mrs. Classtout? Mr. Régitout? Mrs. Surveiltout? The guide? The Curator? The technician? For now, they are all guilty... it’s up to you to solve this investigation at the heart of the collections in the Art section of the Palais-Musée!

The museum originally included a fine arts section and an archaeology section. It presents archaeological and art collections, ranging from prehistoric times to the 20th century. The visit of the Old Palace gives access to rooms that have retained an exceptional decor (chapel of the Madeleine and room painted ceiling). They house a remarkable collection of archaeology (museography under restructuring). The visit of the Palais Neuf, arranged between the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries, allows the discovery of the room of the Synods (in tour commented only) and the old apartments of the archbishops. The art route offers a beautiful collection of 17th and 18th century earthenware, paintings from the European schools from the 16th to the 19th centuries, furniture and an important section of orientalist paintings. The spaces and decorations are themselves sumptuous and deserve a detour: painted ceilings of the Audience Hall (1634), the king’s chamber (1632) and the great gallery (1851), or even the dining room of the archbishops (18th century) with its gypsum decor.
