Die Ausstellung zeigt die Merkmale der Damenmode im Zeitalter der Aufklärung und ihre zahlreichen Neuinterpretationen durch die Modegeschichte bis heute. Das 18. Jahrhundert, das oft als fernes oder gar staubiges Jahrhundert wahrgenommen wird, ist jedoch ein wichtiger Schritt in der Entwicklung des weiblichen Erscheinungsbildes, das bis heute die Modewelt und die Volkskultur beeinflusst.

The exhibition presents the characteristics of women’s fashion in the Enlightenment and its many reinterpretations throughout the history of fashion until today. Often perceived as a distant, even dusty century, the 18th century is nevertheless a major step in the evolution of feminine appearances that still influence the world of fashion and popular culture.
