How old are our oldest ifs? Probably more than a century; they were probably planted as soon as the house was built, around 1900, by the German military governor of the place de Sélestat. But this age is nothing compared to the millennium they are capable of reaching! The yew is declining in our forests, particularly in the Alsatian forests. Yet, in the garden, it is reassembled in crowds, proof that the climate suits him! And what pleases us is that it attracts big beaks and other birds lovers of berries or stones... The yew trees are therefore the setting of the garden, taken over, redesigned, planted and cultivated since the 90s. A large collection of roses, various fruit trees and small fruits; a very large and old lime tree, a fevier and a silver maple much younger but already competing with it, very varied shrubs from all geographical origins... The garden is discovered and goes from room to room, each room surrounded by hedges of charms, beech trees, and yew trees of course. Sin
