The site of the foundries was originally that of an abbey founded in the 12th century. Sold in 1791 as national property, the conventual buildings and remaining outbuildings were acquired by ironmasters in the 19th century. The site was later bought and specialized in art and ornament casting. Its production gradually decreased, and the activity completely ceased in 1987\. It is an industrial community inserted in a rural environment. The industrial landscape is reinforced by the architectural unity of the industrial buildings and the order of the abbey buildings still in place. It is also worth highlighting the interest in the mussel collection kept in situ.
