Visit to an iron mine of the Eiffel Tower and the Zublin ore accumulator.
It is a matter of putting oneself in the shoes of underground miners, in the real galleries where they worked in the 19th century. Learn the craft through practical exercises. And visit the magnificent Zublin ore accumulator of the twentieth century. Finish with an audio guided tour of the steel park. For little and big.
In addition, you will benefit from a reduction of ore in a low furnace and demonstration of forging.
Refreshments on site. Usual rates. Be careful, it’s 10 degrees in the mine. Provide suitable clothing.

The Neuves-Maisons mine is an iron ore mine, a symbol of the development of the Nancy basin in the 19th century. It is one of the mines that provided the iron for the Eiffel Tower, notably.
It was operated from 1874 to 1968\. Nicknamed «the underground city», it housed a real community of workers from many different trades: miners, railway track setters, station masters, electricians, and many others. The iron used for the construction of the Eiffel Tower comes largely from Lorraine, notably from the sites of Ludres, Messein, Neuves-Maisons, Chavigny, Houdemont and Vandœuvre. This historical link makes the Neuves-Maisons mine a true reference for the people of Lorraine, and a strong symbol of the history of steelmaking and minette mining in the Nancy basin.
The mine was founded in 1874 by Victor de Lespinats, a young engineer who graduated from the School of Mines in Paris, where he distinguished himself by finishing second in his class. Visionary, he is at the origin of the steel boom
