Un chant pour Wangari, c’est avant tout l’histoire d’une enfant émerveillée par la nature, devenue femme, savante, militante, amoureuse, trahie, et toujours debout pour défendre la Terre et la dignité humaine.
Elle et Lui sont amis. Ils partagent une admiration et une conviction commune : raconter, à leur manière, Wangari Maathai, prix Nobel de la Paix 2004. Ils la découvrent d’abord par son autobiographie Celle qui plante des arbres et décident de lui écrire une ode, un chant.
Pas en racontant sa vie entière, pas en réalisant un biopic. Non. En choisissant la force poétique et évocatrice des mots, du théâtre, des corps dansant sur une musique composée pour elle.
Elle et Lui tissent ensemble une traversée.
