CCI Versailles-Yvelines - Hôtel de Madame du Barry
21 avenue de Paris 78000 Versailles
Favorite of King Louis XV, the countess du Barry acquired in 1772 this pavilion intended to house her staff and entrusted the construction of magnificent stables to the architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux. After the death of Louis XV, she had to dispose of the whole from 1775 in favor of the count of Provence, brother of the new king Louis XVI. The house was acquired by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Versailles in 1937\. It preserves beautiful decorations and remarkable works related to the one who was the last mistress of Louis XV.
