This meeting will return to an essential question: what is this image whose bicentenary we are celebrating? It will trace the beginnings of photography, from Nicéphore Nièpce, inventor of the first mechanical reproduction process, to the works of Daguerre, Bayard and Talbot, in order to answer an always exciting question: who is truly the inventor of photography?
The conference will conclude with the evocation of two great figures in the history of photography who have a link with La Roche Guyon, thus offering a local light on this scientific and artistic adventure.
