Did you know? In 1992, the first French web server was set up in Villeurbanne, at the IN2P3 Computing Centre (CNRS), just outside Lyon. At the time, the web, which had only just been invented at CERN in Geneva, was still reserved for confidential use among physicists to exchange data.
