Located in the old town, the Maison de la photographie (MaP) is a temporary exhibition gallery dedicated to photography in all its forms (reportage, history, art...). Inaugurated in 2002, it is housed in a former hammam, of which it has retained an original circular structure. It is part of the extension of the photographic collection of the Toulon Art Museum rich in more than 400 works. Humanist photographers, such as Henri Cartier-Bresson or Robert Doisneau, are represented. The Provençal school is notably led by Denis Brihat and Lucien Clergue. Finally, visual photography (painting, video, performance, etc.) is in the spotlight, with the works of Gilbert and George, Denis Oppenheim, etc. The Maison de la photographie hosts temporary exhibitions.
