Der aus Laon stammende Schriftsteller Champfleury war ein großer Bewunderer der Katzen, denen er 1868 einen berühmten Aufsatz widmete. Die Katzen, Geschichte - Sitten - Beobachtung - Anekdoten.
Er führt uns ein und begleitet uns in dieser Ausstellung, die die verschiedenen Facetten dieses faszinierenden Tieres erforscht, seine Anwesenheit an unserer Seite seit den frühesten Zeiten und sein Verhalten, gelinde gesagt, kontrastreich: vom brüllenden und liebevollen Begleiter bis zum unermüdlichen und leidenschaftlich unabhängigen Jäger. Viele Künstler haben sich leidenschaftlich für die Katze interessiert und wollten ihre Persönlichkeit und ihre Beziehungen zu Männern, Frauen und Kindern wiedergeben. Darüber hinaus hat dieses Tier unsere Vorstellung stark inspiriert, manchmal bis hin zur Angst, durch Märchen und Literatur; Die französische Sprache ist übrigens mit Ausdrücken über den Chat übersät.

Many artists have been passionately interested in the cat, wishing to transcribe its personality and relationships with men, women and children. Furthermore, this animal has strongly inspired our imagination, sometimes even to the point of fear, through stories and literature; The French language is also dotted with expressions concerning the cat.

Lo scrittore Champfleury, nativo di Laon, fu un grande ammiratore dei gatti ai quali dedicò nel 1868 un saggio rimasto famoso, I gatti, Storia - Costumi - Osservazione - Aneddoti.
Ci introduce e ci accompagna in questa mostra che esplora le diverse sfaccettature di questo affascinante animale, la sua presenza al nostro fianco fin dai tempi più remoti e il suo comportamento per lo meno contrastato: dal compagno ronzante e affettuoso al cacciatore inveterato e ferocemente indipendente. Molti artisti si sono interessati al gatto con passione, desiderando ritrarre la sua personalità e i suoi rapporti con uomini, donne e bambini. Inoltre, questo animale ha fortemente ispirato il nostro immaginario, a volte fino alla paura, attraverso i racconti e la letteratura; La lingua francese è d'altronde intrisa di espressioni riguardanti il gatto.

L’écrivain Champfleury, natif de Laon, fut un grand admirateur des chats auxquels il consacra en 1868 un essai resté célèbre, Les Chats, Histoire - Mœurs - Observation - Anecdotes.
Il nous introduit et nous accompagne dans cette exposition qui explore les différentes facettes de cet animal fascinant, sa présence à nos côtés depuis les temps les plus reculés et son comportement pour le moins contrasté : du compagnon ronronnant et affectueux au chasseur invétéré et farouchement indépendant. Beaucoup d’artistes se sont intéressés au chat avec passion, désirant retranscrire sa personnalité et ses rapports avec hommes, femmes et enfants. En outre, cet animal a fortement inspiré notre imaginaire, parfois jusqu’à la peur, à travers les contes et la littérature ; la langue française est d’ailleurs émaillée d’expressions concernant le chat.
