At the bend of the grove or the undergrowth, meet artists, students of the association Brédoise Croq'Art, come to seize, from many angles, all the nuances of the gardens of Montesquieu.
Saturday, on the occasion of this event, the association will have the pleasure of welcoming the artist Dominique DORIÉ, renowned impressionist and abstract painter, who will share his expertise and provide valuable advice to students.
Discover, in preview, the works that will then be presented in the old farmhouse, exhibition space of the estate.

Located away from the town, the castle rises in the center of the estate since the 13th century. The old medieval fortress whose walls with cut-off sections seem to emerge in the middle of its water ditches is today surrounded by a vast park. Directly inspired by "The theory and practice of gardening" by Dezallier d'Argenville (1709) which he bought in 1722, Montesquieu first created a regular garden with parterre and grove. Different plans of the park having been discovered at the end of the 2000s, it was possible to find the perspective games wanted by Montesquieu and thus to restore in 2014 the large "green carpet", the grove and the carmel, that is to say the paths of walks, composed of charms, which intersect at several points with small crossroads that succeed each other to form a double star design, with an octagon in its center.
