From greenhouses and walls to palisser of the Salomon Gardens to the exceptionally open Fruiter building, discover the great history of the Chasselas de Thomery between techniques, know-how and revolutionary method of conservation that have made the village prosper for more than two centuries.

Tour by group of 15 people. Not wheelchair accessible for the fruit grower.
To join the tour, go to the church square 10 minutes in advance.

These gardens were named after one of Thomery’s largest grape growers in the 19th century: Salomon et fils. They are now home to greenhouses, in line with those Étienne Salomon had built. These greenhouses were not the usual mode of production. You had to be a large operation to be able to own them. For Salomon, it was a question of forcing nature, so they were first forcing greenhouses (i.e. heated greenhouses allowing to produce table grapes out of season). After the abandonment of forced cultivation, experimental greenhouses for delicate varieties. It is not possible to have two harvests produced in the vineyard during the year.
