Die Dorfschmiede, ein lebendiges Erbe
Die 1931 von meinem Großvater errichtete Schmiede war lange Zeit ein unverzichtbarer Ort des Dorflebens. Als einziger Schmied der Gemeinde und der benachbarten Dörfer übte er dort einen für die ländliche Welt unverzichtbaren Beruf aus.
In dieser Werkstatt reparierte er landwirtschaftliche Werkzeuge und Geräte, aber seine Tätigkeit war vor allem dem Schmieden von Zugpferden gewidmet, die in den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren auf den Bauernhöfen allgegenwärtig waren. Sein Know-how begleitete somit den Alltag der Bauern und trug zum reibungslosen Funktionieren der lokalen Wirtschaft bei.
Im Laufe der Jahre diente die Schmiede auch meinem Vater, dann meinem Bruder, einem direkt gegenüber gelegenen Landwirt, und verlängerte so die Berufung dieses Ortes für den landwirtschaftlichen Familienbetrieb.
Ich selbst hatte das Glück, einen Teil meiner Kindheit an der Seite meines Großvaters zu verbringen, ihn zu beobachten und an einigen seiner Arbeiten teilzunehmen. Diese Erinnerungen verleihen dieser Werkstatt heute eine ganz besondere Dimension, einem Zeugnis eines Handwerks, das heute selten geworden ist.
Anlässlich der Europäischen Tage des Kulturerbes 2026 öffnet diese Schmiede ihre Türen, um einen Ort voller Geschichte, Know-how und Erinnerung zu entdecken, der eine wichtige Seite des ländlichen Erbes unserer Gemeinde erzählt.

The village forge, a living heritage
Installed in 1931 by my grandfather, this forge has long been a must-see place in the life of the village. The only blacksmith in the commune and neighboring villages, he practiced a profession essential to the rural world.
In this workshop, he carried out repairs of tools and agricultural equipment, but his activity was mainly devoted to the shoeing of draft horses, omnipresent on farms in the 1950s and 1960s. His know-how thus accompanied the daily life of farmers and contributed to the smooth running of the local economy.
Over the years, the forge has also served my father and then my brother, a farmer installed just opposite, thus extending the vocation of this place in the service of the family farm.
I myself had the chance to spend part of my childhood there alongside my grandfather, observing him and participating in some of his works. These memories give today a very special dimension to this workshop, witness of a profession now become rare.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, this forge opens its doors to discover a place steeped in history, know-how and memory, which tells an important page of the rural heritage of our town.

La fucina del villaggio, un patrimonio vivente
Installata nel 1931 da mio nonno, questa fucina è stata a lungo un luogo imperdibile della vita del villaggio. Unico fabbro del comune e dei villaggi vicini, esercitava un mestiere indispensabile al mondo rurale.
In questa officina si occupava della riparazione di attrezzi e materiali agricoli, ma la sua attività era soprattutto dedicata all'aratura dei cavalli da traino, onnipresenti nelle fattorie degli anni '50 e '60. Il suo know-how accompagnava la vita quotidiana degli agricoltori e contribuiva al buon funzionamento dell'economia locale.
Nel corso degli anni, la fucina è stata utilizzata anche da mio padre e poi da mio fratello, un contadino che si trovava proprio di fronte, prolungando così la vocazione di questo luogo al servizio dell'azienda agricola familiare.
Io stesso ho avuto la fortuna di trascorrere parte della mia infanzia al fianco di mio nonno, osservandolo e partecipando ad alcuni dei suoi lavori. Questi ricordi danno oggi una dimensione tutta particolare a questo laboratorio, testimone di un mestiere divenuto raro.
In occasione delle Giornate europee del patrimonio 2026, questa fucina apre le sue porte per far scoprire un luogo carico di storia, di savoir-faire e di memoria, che racconta una pagina importante del patrimonio rurale del nostro comune.

La forge du village, un patrimoine vivant
Installée en 1931 par mon grand-père, cette forge a longtemps été un lieu incontournable de la vie du village. Seul forgeron de la commune et des villages voisins, il y exerçait un métier indispensable au monde rural.
Dans cet atelier, il réalisait les réparations des outils et des matériels agricoles, mais son activité était surtout consacrée au ferrage des chevaux de trait, omniprésents dans les fermes des années 1950 et 1960. Son savoir-faire accompagnait ainsi le quotidien des agriculteurs et contribuait au bon fonctionnement de l'économie locale.
Au fil des années, la forge a également servi à mon père, puis à mon frère, agriculteur installé juste en face, prolongeant ainsi la vocation de ce lieu au service de l'exploitation agricole familiale.
J'ai moi-même eu la chance d'y passer une partie de mon enfance aux côtés de mon grand-père, en l'observant et en participant à quelques-uns de ses travaux. Ces souvenirs donnent aujourd'hui une dimension toute particulière à cet atelier, témoin d'un métier aujourd'hui devenu rare.
À l'occasion des Journées européennes du patrimoine 2026, cette forge ouvre ses portes pour faire découvrir un lieu chargé d'histoire, de savoir-faire et de mémoire, qui raconte une page importante du patrimoine rural de notre commune.

La forja del pueblo, un patrimonio vivo
Instalada en 1931 por mi abuelo, esta forja ha sido durante mucho tiempo un lugar imprescindible de la vida del pueblo. Único herrero del municipio y de los pueblos vecinos, ejercía allí un oficio indispensable para el mundo rural.
En este taller realizaba reparaciones de herramientas y material agrícola, pero su actividad estaba dedicada sobre todo a la ferratura de caballos de tiro, omnipresentes en las granjas de los años 1950 y 1960. Su saber hacer acompañaba así la vida cotidiana de los agricultores y contribuía al buen funcionamiento de la economía local.
A lo largo de los años, la forja también sirvió a mi padre, y luego a mi hermano, agricultor instalado justo enfrente, prolongando así la vocación de este lugar al servicio de la explotación agrícola familiar.
Yo mismo tuve la suerte de pasar parte de mi infancia junto a mi abuelo, observándolo y participando en algunos de sus trabajos. Estos recuerdos dan hoy una dimensión muy especial a este taller, testigo de un oficio que hoy se ha vuelto raro.
Con motivo de las Jornadas Europeas del Patrimonio 2026, esta herrería abre sus puertas para hacer descubrir un lugar lleno de historia, saber hacer y memoria, que cuenta una página importante del patrimonio rural de nuestro municipio.
