The ROSNY RAIL association was founded in 1997 by the SNCF (Regional Directorate of Paris-Est and the Directorate of Transilien, formerly Regional Passenger Services for Île-de-France), the French Railway Museum of Mulhouse (now known as the Cité du Train), the city of Rosny-sous-Bois and the Noisy-le-Sec Railway Club. Its purpose is to manage the museum, which is intended to introduce the public in Île-de-France (especially school children), to the history of trains, their past, their place in today’s economy, but also their prospects for the future.
Rosny Rail also aims to encourage Ile-de-France residents to visit Mulhouse and the Cité du Train, with which the association maintains a close relationship, particularly in terms of museographic presentation.
This association ensures the proper maintenance of the museum and its facilities as well as the acquisition, conservation and development of exhibits and railway equipment belonging to the museum and third parties.
Until recent years, the association ROSNY RAIL has ensured, somehow, all these activities - while having the obstinacy to make circulate, on a track, alas too short, both a motorized draisine, but also a machine moved by the unique strength of the arms of its visitors.
