Präsenz ist ein radikaler Akt. In der Luftfahrt bezeichnet eine "ungewöhnliche Haltung" oder eine Störung eines Flugzeugs eine unbeabsichtigte, unvorhergesehene und manchmal extreme Position im Weltraum, die die Fähigkeit des Piloten, die Kontrolle zu behalten, auf die Probe stellt. Das Erkennen und Korrigieren einer ungewöhnlichen Einstellung ist eine lebenswichtige Fähigkeit, die keine Ablenkungen toleriert.
Während wir versuchen, eine sich ständig wandelnde und immer widersprüchlichere Welt zu verstehen, zeigt die vollständige Darstellung - sowohl als Künstler als auch als Pilot - eine wesentliche Haltung der menschlichen Qualität. Reden hat Konsequenzen, aber schweigen ist oft schädlicher. Mitgefühl hat seinen Preis. Gleichgültigkeit auch. Indem wir uns um andere kümmern, bewahren wir unsere Hoffnung auf die Menschlichkeit.
Die in Unusual Attitudes versammelten Werke präsentieren sich als eine kühne Mischung aus Tier und Mensch, Empathie und Grausamkeit, Schönheit im Unbeholfenen und Ästhetik im Unerträglichen. Sie verlangen eine Weigerung, wegzusehen. Sich weigern, wegzusehen, heißt, ein Spiegel zu werden, der nichts anderes als uns selbst widerspiegelt.

Presence is a radical act. In aviation, an "unusual attitude", or disturbance of an aircraft, refers to an unintended, unforeseen, sometimes extreme position in space that may test the pilot’s ability to maintain control. Recognizing and correcting an unusual attitude is a vital skill that tolerates no distraction.
As we try to understand a world in perpetual mutation, ever more contradictory, presenting oneself fully - as an artist as well as an aviator - reveals an essential posture of the quality of being human. Expressing oneself has consequences, but keeping silent is often more harmful. Compassion has a price. So is indifference. It is by taking care of others that we keep our hope in humanity alive.
The works brought together in Unusual Attitudes present themselves as a bold amalgam of animal and human, empathy and cruelty, beauty in clumsiness and aesthetics in the unbearable. They demand a refusal to look away. Refusing to look away is becoming a mirror that reflects nothing but ourselves.

In aviazione, un "comportamento insolito" o una perturbazione di un aeromobile indica una posizione involontaria, imprevista e talvolta estrema nello spazio che mette a dura prova la capacità del pilota di mantenere il controllo. Riconoscere e correggere un atteggiamento insolito è una competenza vitale che non tollera alcuna distrazione.
Mentre cerchiamo di comprendere un mondo in continua mutazione, sempre più contraddittorio, presentarci pienamente - sia come artista che come aviatore - rivela una posizione essenziale della qualità dell'essere umano. Parlare ha delle conseguenze, ma tacere è spesso più dannoso. La compassione ha un prezzo. Anche l'indifferenza. È prendendoci cura degli altri che manteniamo viva la nostra speranza nell'umanità.
Le opere riunite in Unusual Attitudes si presentano come un audace amalgama di animale e umano, di empatia e crudeltà, del bello nel maldestro e dell'estetica nell'insostenibile. Richiedono un rifiuto di distogliere lo sguardo. Rifiutarsi di distogliere lo sguardo significa diventare uno specchio che non riflette altro che noi stessi.

En aviation, une « attitude inhabituelle », ou une perturbation d’un aéronef, désigne une position involontaire, imprévue, parfois extrême, dans l’espace, susceptible de mettre à l’épreuve la capacité du pilote à en garder le contrôle. Reconnaître et corriger une attitude inhabituelle est une compétence vitale qui ne tolère aucune distraction.
Alors que nous tentons de comprendre un monde en perpétuelle mutation, toujours plus contradictoire, se présenter pleinement - en tant qu’artiste comme en tant qu’aviateur - révèle une posture essentielle de la qualité d’être humain. S’exprimer a des conséquences, mais se taire est souvent plus néfaste. La compassion a un prix. L’indifférence aussi. C’est en prenant soin des autres que nous gardons vivant notre espoir en l’humanité.
Les œuvres réunies dans Unusual Attitudes se présentent comme un amalgame audacieux de l’animal et de l’humain, de l’empathie et de la cruauté, du beau dans le maladroit et de l’esthétique dans l’insoutenable. Elles exigent un refus de détourner le regard. Refuser de détourner le regard, c’est devenir un miroir qui ne reflète rien d’autre que nous-mêmes.

Reconocer y corregir una actitud inusual es una habilidad vital que no tolera distracciones.
Mientras intentamos comprender un mundo en constante cambio, cada vez más contradictorio, presentarnos plenamente -como artista y como aviador- revela una postura esencial de la calidad del ser humano. Hablar tiene consecuencias, pero callar es a menudo más perjudicial. La compasión tiene un precio. La indiferencia también. Cuidar de los demás nos ayuda a mantener viva nuestra esperanza en la humanidad.
Las obras reunidas en Unusual Attitudes se presentan como una audaz amalgama del animal y del humano, de la empatía y la crueldad, de lo bello en lo torpe y de la estética en lo insostenible.
