Melodic and captivating, Jean-Yves Poupin’s jazz draws audiences into an intimate, atmospheric world infused with humour. This Franco-Swiss artist has built an impressive musical career, with around ten albums to his name and artistic collaborations around the world, alongside forays into film music.
For this evening’s performance, he will be joined by Geneva-based bassist Denis Favrichon. A composer and instrument maker, Favrichon has been active on stages throughout French-speaking Switzerland for several years. He will surprise audiences with the distinctive sounds of the cellobasse, an instrument of his own creation, with a sound reminiscent of the cello.
The talented Bérangère Mastrangelo began her career as a singer, exploring jazz, funk, bossa nova and other styles, before venturing onto the stages of Geneva’s theatres. For this late-night jazz performance, she will bring her evocative voice, tinged with a mischievous, sultry edge, to the duo.
