Quinceañeras draws inspiration from the Latin American ritual of the fifteenth birthday – the symbolic transition from childhood to adulthood. What does coming of age mean in a compartmentalised system, and how can we reclaim these rituals to transform them into acts of resistance and self-affirmation? Together, Estefanía Álvarez Ramírez and Luisa Fernanda Alfonso explore new forms of female representation.
