Seat of the Departmental Council, inaugurated on May 4, 1987 by Pierre Niederberger, then President of the General Council and Charles Pasqua, Minister of the Interior, this building of 3000 m2 now groups a part of the management teams of the Department.
The Sirot building, built in the 19th century, formerly the Sirot property, was redeveloped in 1977 to house the commission meeting rooms. As a continuation of this development, an extension houses the chamber of assemblies, in which the elected meet in standing committee and plenary session. The Niederberger Hall was built under the impetus of Bruno Sido in 2006-2007, and named «Pierre Niederberger Hall» in memory of the former President of the General Council. Villa Schneider, built in the 19th century, has been owned by the Department since 1982.
