The old(former) factory, thought factory of bottom(stocking), of Dommartin-le-Franc scoops(draws) out its origin in the 13th century. The first mention(distinction) of his owner, Ferry II de Lorraine, date of 1459\. In 1773, she(it) is a matter of her(its) ruins by Arnould, François cousin de Châtillon who builds there a blast furnace vestiges and hall(market) of which are still visible. The factory will stay in the family Châtillon which will develop it until 1983 and produce, in the 19th and 20th centuries of the cooks(cookers), stoves(frying pans) and some ornamental cast iron. ASPM acquired(bought back) it in 1994 and presents to it an academy of arts of metallurgy in three sections(shutters): the cast iron of art with the important fund(collection) of models Ferry-Capitain and about 800 lithographic stones; the machines of smithy and of foundry; arts of the fire(light). The fund(collection) of models is called "paradise" by the foundry owners, because it includes a lot of religious models.
