For the second part of Locomotions it is a question of taking a counter-point look, through the collection of posters of the City of Chaumont, of the initial exhibition dedicated to the means of individual travel. Questioning the modes of public transport, but overflowing with the initial question, the exhibition deals with mobility: that of the obvious journey, that of the journey, that of the exile.

The centre is a continuation of a history that began in 1905 with the bequest of Gustave Dutailly to the town of Chaumont, consisting of 5,000 illustrated posters.
First permanent place dedicated to graphic design in France, Le Signe draws in a collection of 45,000 documents fed by the best productions of the last decades and exhibited between its walls. Art center dedicated to graphic design, it is a platform for production, dissemination, support for creation, dialogue and mediation between the artistic field of graphics and audiences.
Its program of exhibitions, workshops, training and residencies contributes to the recognition, development and influence of graphic design in France and around the world.
Now a Biennale and now supported by Le Signe, this unmissable event has been gathering all artists and graphic designers around the world for nearly 30 years. A work recognized by obtaining in 2020 the label «Centres d'art contemporain d'intérêt national».
