At the origin of the estate, there was a fortress dependent on the counts of Champagne, located on the way to Santiago de Compostela. The dry moat surrounding the current castle is the trace. There are several outstanding monuments of the Renaissance period: a gallows, a portico and a well. The current castle was built at the beginning of the 18th century, on the plans of Jean-Baptiste Bouchardon. As for the park, it was designed at the end of the 18th century and has preserved until today the plan taken a few years later when the Napoleonic cadastre was created. It includes an English garden and a wood crossed by horse paths. A double flight staircase leads to an orangery of the Viollet-Le-Duc period. From this last epoch also dates the water tower located near the commons.
