About the location

Musée municipal
Parc du Château, 52400 Bourbonne-les-Bains
  • Haute-Marne
  • Grand Est
Created in 1874, the municipal museum of Bourbonne-les-Bains is transferred in 1910 in the outbuildings of the former medieval castle. Originally composed of discoveries made during the archaeological excavations in the city, the collection is complemented by donations from individuals and purchases. The history of the city is told through preserved objects and works. A room presents the archaeological remains, especially those of the ancient spa city. The fine arts hall introduces the artistic history of Bourbonne-les-Bains, where many artists of national interest are present; ethnographic and natural «curiosities» complete this journey. Finally, a final room is devoted to temporary exhibitions.
The museum is labeled Musée de France.
