Exhibition "The mOnde of Tim, nartist of raw art"
The mOnde of Tim, nartist of raw art
Franco – American, Haut Marnais and Peasant, 1918 – 1970
Originally from the Grand Est, Timothée lived his entire life as a farmer – nartist in a small isolated farm in a village in Haut-Marnais. Franco-American, forgotten child, born in 1918 from a soldier in confinement and a country. Orphaned from birth, it will reveal itself thereafter simple in spirit. Raised by his uncle and aunt, he will have an unexpected life, filled with singular encounters. His solar artistic creation was his resilience and his way of salvation to be very happy. His original writing dresses his drawings.
His work brings together 2000 illustrations and texts of Art Brut.
Conferences will also be held over the weekend:
- Saturday 16 at 6pm: Tim’s mOnde and Parisians
Not far from the farm, Tim will meet Parisians who come on summer holidays in a secluded shed. From 1950 to 1970, this Blue House is a nest of libertarians and hedonists who welcome Tim with open arms and name him Nartist. They offer him very good colored pencils that boost his art. They are called Basile, Le Bon Léon, Lucette, Belin le Bain, Fanu, Rénu, Charline … They even make him discover Picasso! - Sunday at 4pm: Tim Nartiste’s mOnde d’Art brut
How is Tim an Art Brut artist? This simple-minded peasant is self-taught. He did not go to school, but has an original writing with pictograms that can be deciphered. His artistic creation allowed him to face an outside world that rejected him. With his world, mixing real and imaginary, Tim had a small territory of happiness and a large free creative space. His work testifies!
