Discover dozens of photos, objects, documents and testimonies that revive, in the Porte-Horloge, the longest summer in the history of Vire. Devastated by the June 6 bombing, the city was liberated on August 8, 1944 by the 116th Regiment of the 29th American Infantry Division. The virois Louis-Henri Lemirre, actor of the reconstruction, painter and Olympic athlete, makes the link between this period of history and the Olympics of Munich 1972 (room 4).
