Die Kapelle von Sainte-Marie-aux-English, weit entfernt von jeder Stadt, hat acht Jahrhunderte überdauert und zeigt uns, wie ihr Bauherr sie sich vorstellte und in die Tat umsetzte. Um 1220 wurden ihre Innenwände mit Gemälden bedeckt, von denen ein großer Teil bei uns angekommen ist und auf eine schonende Restaurierung wartet. Aus einer Untersuchung der Einzelheiten dieser Gemälde geht hervor, daß einerseits ihr pädagogisches Ziel und andererseits die Verbindung ihrer Autoren mit den Denkströmungen ihrer Zeit deutlich werden. Das zeigen wir Ihnen bei Ihrem Besuch.

In a bucolic site, far from any city, the chapel of Sainte-Marie-aux-Anglais has crossed 8 centuries and shows us how his master-builder had imagined it and had it realized. Around 1220 its interior walls were covered with paintings of which a large part has reached us and awaits a respectful restoration. By a study of the details of these paintings one sees clearly on the one hand their pedagogical destination and on the other hand the link of their authors with the currents of thought of their time. This is what we will show you during your visit.

In un sito bucolico, lontano da ogni città, la cappella di Santa Maria agli Inglesi ha attraversato 8 secoli e ci mostra come il suo maestro l'aveva immaginata e fatta realizzare. Verso il 1220 le sue pareti interne furono ricoperte di dipinti di cui gran parte ci è pervenuta e attende un rispettoso restauro. Da uno studio dei dettagli di questi dipinti si vede bene apparire da una parte la loro destinazione pedagogica e dall'altra il legame dei loro autori con le correnti di pensiero della loro epoca. Questo è ciò che vi mostreremo durante la vostra visita.

Vers 1220 ses murs intérieurs furent recouverts de peintures dont une grande partie nous est parvenue et attend une respectueuse restauration. Par une étude des détails de ces peintures on voit bien apparaître d'une part leur destination pédagogique et d'autre part le lien de leurs auteurs avec les courants de pensée de leur époque. En un sitio bucólico, lejos de toda ciudad, la capilla de Sainte-Marie-aux-Anglais ha atravesado 8 siglos y nos muestra cómo su maestro de obra la había imaginado y hecho realizar. Hacia 1220 sus muros interiores fueron cubiertos con pinturas, muchas de las cuales nos han llegado y esperan una respetuosa restauración. A través de un estudio de los detalles de estas pinturas se ve claramente, por una parte, su destino pedagógico y, por otra, el vínculo de sus autores con las corrientes de pensamiento de su época. Esto es lo que le mostraremos durante su visita.
