Exhibition of the works of Karine Saporta

This exceptional exhibition brings together two great personalities of French dance. Choreographer Karine Saporta and Marie-Agnès Gillot, the first dancer to be named a star at the Paris Opera in a contemporary repertoire.
1st episode - BONES ON THE SKIN
On the surface of Marie-Agnès Gillot’s skin, the representation of a skeleton... Hers... since the dancer with a double gibbosity entrusts the x-rays to Karine Saporta. The image strongly evokes the surrealist Mexican aesthetic, characteristic of this day of the dead.
Where the bones are exhibited framed by colors and flowers in joyful and terrifying visions at the same time.
2nd episode - IRON ON THE SKIN
Enclosing the ribcage, the corset appears, and its merciless straps
Hers perhaps or that of Frida Khalo... Because like the Mexican artist, Marie-Agnès Gillot has been wearing a corset since a very young age.
The dancer by the deformation of her spine has the use of only a part of her lungs... And yet thanks to the practice of his art, his breath is wide and powerful. The flesh is glowing and radiant...
Episode 3 - The Flower Skin
Creeping between the bones... vegetation fills the picture. The colorful power of Frida Kahlo’s painting invites to the re-composition of the painting of life. Exuberant and lush.
For the first time, Karine Saporta chooses digital tools to transform her photographic work and move through technologies on the other side of the mirror. His obsession is always to conceive images as hallucinations by sowing skilfully the disorder on the pictorial or radiographic nature of the image.
By skilfully sowing doubt on the pictorial... photographic or... radiographic nature of the image, Karine Saporta continues her approach to conceive images such as hallucinations. The artist magician knows how to sow disorder and induce sensory vertigo.
