The Friends of the Saint-Laurent Church, which ensures the preservation and heritage enhancement of the old small church of Deauville, welcome Yves Aublet, passionate about local history and author.
The Duke of Morny, half-brother of Napoleon III and creator of Deauville, was a great collector of paintings. At the end of his life, he had one of the finest collections of painted works of all schools: Dutch, Flemish, French, Italian and Spanish. The most beautiful pieces are now hung in some of the largest museums in the world: MET Museum of Art in New York, Wallace Collection in London, Louvre Museum in Paris, National Gallery in Washington, etc. Yves Aublet will tell the genesis of this collection.
