Exhibition: With "Caen à ELLES", women and history are on the street! - Exhibition of the project and archival documents
On the one hand, Norman women who have marked history but whose name has been forgotten, even invisibilized. On the other, the public space, with 3% of street signs bearing female names.
The collective of the Caen association in ELLES tackles these two problems by affixing 50 plaques of street names in the city center that light up women related to Normandy.
Discover the Caen à ELLES project at Territoires Pionniers - Maison de l'Architecture where archival documents such as photographs by Paulette Urbain will be exhibited, poems by the Black Panther Jean McNair or drawings by the first woman architect in France, Juliette Billard.
Opening of the exhibition on Friday 18 September at 6.30 pm
Access to the exhibition from 10am to 7pm on 19 and 20 September
