Ribband and the striated
The welcome(reception) of Émilie Losch in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon comes in two phases: the first one, at the high school Jean-Vilar, in complicity with the teacher of visual art and other professors to sensitise the pupils in contemporary art, in particular across the commissionership of an exhibition(exposure) of works existent from the collection of the Tail coat(Frac); a second time(weather), in residence in the Chartreuse, to conceive(design) a personal exhibition(exposure) which spreads(displays) up to the museum Pierre-de-Luxembourg and to strong Saint-André, as an imaginary walk in the maze of thought.
Just as the previous publishing(editions) of this project, it is a question of confronting contemporary plastic creation with the spirit of the places of heritage and of encouraging the welcome(reception) of all public.
The route-exhibition(course-exhibition,route-exposure,course-exposure) of Émilie Losch develops around the themes of architecture as shape-volume built in the space but also as invented, imagined shape. Of plan in the volume and model in installation via(including) the sculpture, the artist suggests showing a corpus of works making intercede games(sets) of scales(ladders) and tricks of the eye, mathematical rigour and poetic whims.
