The workshops for the kids

On the occasion of the European Night of Museums 2024, the Capc Musée d'art contemporain offers four original workshops.

  • 18h15 > 18h45
  • Create your Pyjama Party****, a workshop proposed by Ultra Violette
  • For children from 3 years
Artist scenographer based in Bordeaux and Rennes, Anouk Lepeigneul alias Ultra Violette creates enchanted stage sets that reveal themselves in black light. For the European Night of Museums at CAPC, the artist has designed a workshop for children to create the decor for the kids' party that will be held from 19h to 20h30. Early in the evening, come paint with your family to create a neon pink starry sky that will light up with the first musical notes.
  • 6.15 pm > 9 pm
  • Entrelacs****, a workshop designed by Benoît Piéron
  • For children (from 7 years) and adults
Rhythmic gymnastics ribbons and scoubidous! On the occasion of the PYJAMABAL, the French artist Benoît Piéron reactivates a workshop and a performance under the name "Entrelacs" (2024). On this occasion, young and old are invited to make rhythmic and sports gymnastics ribbons from so-called reformed sheets (hospital sheets used, washed and then marketed). A way to reclaim the emotional and political burden of these fabrics and write new stories. These ribbons will be activated by a practice workshop and a performance that will be held from 9:15 pm to 9:30 pm.
  • 6.15 pm > 9 pm
  • Fluorescent makeup workshop
  • For children (from 20 months)
The Capc team is waiting for you – young and old – for a makeup session! Color and neon, get ready to wear your most original look at the Pyjama Party, the Boom of the kids that will be held from 19h to 20h30.
  • 6.15 pm > 9 pm
  • Dream catcher workshop
  • For children (from 4 years)
Come and make your most precious asset! Catch it dream. The safest way to keep the memory of the sweet nights of the little ones.
    • - European Museum Night at Capc: PYJAMABAL On the occasion of the European Museum Night, Capc invites you to wear your best pyjamas to celebrate the PYJAMABAL. A slumber party on the scale of the entire museum, which oscillates between dream and nightmare. Program: performances, concerts, drag, DJ sets, spontaneous parade, and a kids area with boom for children, family visits, workshops, reading corner, flash visits, visits performed...

About the location

Capc Musée d'art contemporain de Bordeaux
7 rue Ferrère, 33000 Bordeaux
  • Gironde
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Since it was founded in 1973, the Capc (Centre d'arts plastiques contemporains) has always been an exceptional space for creation. Throughout its fifty years of existence, this place of research and experimentation has succeeded in bringing together artists and the public, curious to discover new forms of art, exhibition and mediation, in constantly renewed formats.
It became a museum in 1984, and was awarded the "Musée de France" label in 2002, followed by the "Centre d'art contemporain d'intérêt national" label in 2021.
Housed in the Entrepôt Lainé, an imposing heritage building in the Chartrons district, close to the quays of the Garonne, the Capc has 3,422 m2 of exhibition space. This former real warehouse for colonial goods, built in 1824, underwent three major phases of renovation between 1984 and 1990 by architects Denis Valode and Jean Pistre and designer Andrée Putman.

Throughout the year, the Capc Musée d'art contemporain de Bordeaux offers a rich programme of exhibitions and artist residencies, as well as numerous cultural and educational events.
