Within the framework of European Heritage and Matrimony Days 2026, whose theme is ' Heritage in danger ", appointment for a round table on gastronomy and the French at the Cité du Vin.
Fifteen years ago, UNESCO listed the Gastronomic Meal of the French as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. A worldwide recognition of a French ritual, a social and cultural practice based on the careful choice of products, the harmony of food and wine, the setting of the table and the pleasure of being together. But what remains of this meal in the daily life of the French in 2026?
The acceleration of lifestyles, the rise of snacking, new nutritional and environmental injunctions, and the explosion of diets have profoundly reconfigured our ways of eating and undermined the ideal of shared meals.
Come and reflect on this heritage of good eating and drinking, and ask yourself if it is now in danger.
The Permanent Exhibition will be open to the public throughout the weekend of the European Heritage and Matrimony Days, from 10am to 7pm, with paid entry.
